Why do people want to be famous?
Different people have different incentives to be ‘famous’.
Some would like the adoration of fans and to be well known
for whatever they’re famous for. They want to be loved by not just those the
surround themselves with, but by millions worldwide.
Others would like the money and luxurious life that usually
comes along with being famous, and of course the more well known you are, the
more you are likely to get paid.
Some people may just like the assurance that they are really
good at what they do (like writing, singing, acting etc.). If they were famous,
countless numbers of people would give them feedback, most of it instant
because of the internet, as opposed to just a few people that look at their
work.
But to be famous, most people have to give up things, things
which are (although they may not realise it at the time) important and precious
to them. For example, you’d have to work very hard and put a lot of time into
whatever you want to be famous for. Also, if the person were to become famous,
they may change who they are because of the pressure the world puts on them to
change and get more ‘in’ with the current trends. They may lose the friends
that they’ve had for years if they get caught up with everything and are only
interested in being friends with other celebrities, or as mentioned before,
they change.
