Kat and Gavin

How do you think a conversation would go between Kat and Gavin after this episode?

Holy heck, I’ll never be allowed to plan a date ever again. That is if Kat still wants to go out with me. Crap, that was a really dumb idea to take her to a haunted asylum. That was so freaky! I mean, it was totally gross when that girl made out with me. I’m scarred for life... I should probably ask Kat if she’s OK. She’s been kind of quiet. “Are you OK, Kat?”

Let’s see: my maybe ex-boyfriend took me to a creepy place for ‘fun’, where we both could have easily gotten killed unless two guys turned up and saved our sorry butts. NO. “I’m fine.”

She doesn’t look fine. “I’m sorry for making you come with me.”

Huh, I didn’t realise how freaked out Gavin is. He might pass out at any second. Maybe he shouldn’t drive. “Pull over.”

I’d better do as she says now that I’ve seen her handle a shot gun. I never knew I could be so attracted to someone who could easily blow my head off. “Please don’t break up with me.” Crap! Think before you speak, Gavin! Now she’s definitely gonna break up with me...

I was wondering when that would come up... It was amazing that we made it half an hour. “Gavin–”

“No, before you say anything, hear me out. You’re too good for me, I know that, heck, the whole school reminds me of it every day.” Work it, Gavin. Convince her you’re worthy of her love. “But I really like you and tonight was something that I totally regret. I’m so sorry for making you come. It was supposed to just be a stupid legend. Who knew that it would actually come true?”

Apparently Sam and Dean did. “But–”

“I need you, OK?” Wait, does admitting that mean that I really like her, or does it just make me weak? I REALLY should’ve listened to my older brother when he was giving me advice on women...
She looks like she could bolt at any second. Quick, say something that she’ll like. Should I... I was gonna save it for later, but it’s now or never. “I’m just gonna say it. Kat, I love you.”

Oh... I wasn’t expecting that. “Are you serious Gavin?” I don’t want it to end up like last time with Joe. But Gavin looks different than Joe had... He’s laughing less, for one, and we have been going out for a while...

Wait, did she mean ‘Eww-are-you-serious-that’s-gross-I-could-never-love-you’ or was she just asking? Might as well be honest now that it’s out there. “As serious as I’ve ever been.” Uh oh, what does it mean when she looks down? She’s gonna break up with me, isn’t she? Yip, she is. Especially now that she’s seen what’s out there: that short charming guy and his Gigantor brother are so much better than I’ll ever be.

He loves me? Stop blushing, Kat. He loves me! “I love you too, Gavin.” Look him in the eye so he knows you’re serious too! “I love you too!”

Wow, wasn’t expecting that. Guess going through near death experiences softens girls a little. Just let this kiss last a little longer then we can go...

Congrats, Kat! You’ve finally found a half-decent, genuine guy!  “But if you even take me into a haunted asylum ever again, we are so breaking up.”

“Deal.”

  1. I sincerely laughed out loud when I read this. I think you have the idea.

That Kat might still take him back is an interesting point, and one I agree with.

I'm on summer break here in GA, that means I might be a bit sporadic on responses, but you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work (and enjoy the literature, visual and text!).
